  The campsite was a little hard to back into, but I am not the best at backing a camper. The sites are a closer than desired. The check in process was quick and easy. Quiet time is adhered to. We will be back. My wife and I have already scoped out some more desirable camper spots here. Do a little research and get the most out of your camping here. They also have church on Sunday. We will be attending.

  If you're not familiar with LBL (Land Between the Lakes) or the campgrounds that are offered throughout, don't let Hillman Ferry pass you up. They have several spots so book early, they full up and stay reserved quite a lot. They have spots for all walks, full hook up, water and electric, 30 and 50 sites, water views, and more. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and they got a great store as well! If you love Halloween, make sure that you visit when they do their Halloween celebration. I can't describe the amount of work and dedication that people put into making their Halloween successful!

  If you’re looking for a relaxing camping trip where you feel welcomed and treated fairly… yeah, Hillman Ferry Campground might not be the place. First off, apparently this is the only campground on Earth where a golf cart becomes a federal offense. We got our golf cart privileges taken away because of an “underage driver” situation. Meanwhile, there were literal kids whipping around on motorized vehicles like it was Mario Kart, but yeah, we were the problem. Then there’s the “community policing” situation. We got reported by other campers for being “obnoxious,” which is wild considering we were just existing. No party, no chaos, just vibes. Apparently breathing too loud is grounds for a complaint here. And the best part? The staff. I don’t know if we accidentally signed up for a reality show called Targeted: Campground Edition, but it sure felt like it. The whole time we were there, it was like we had a personal security detail, except instead of protecting us, they were watching us like we were about to commit a felony at any moment. Meanwhile, other people were out there straight up drinking and driving around the campground like it’s normal. No issues, no consequences, no problem. But sure, let’s crack down on us for… existing incorrectly, I guess. Overall, if you enjoy double standards, random complaints from strangers, and feeling like you’re being monitored for sport, this place is perfect. If not, maybe look literally anywhere else. 1 star for the trees, they didn’t judge us.

  Very friendly staff. Quiet campground with many activities for kids to do. Our cabin needed the floor repainted and need a couple new mattresses, but was nice. If you are looking for a weekend fishing trip getaway, then this is your spot.
