  Stop 221 (5-night stay) The Newport RV Park is clean, well-maintained, and makes an excellent, quiet launching point to explore the area. Online reservations were seamless, and check-in with the camp host was incredibly quick and kind. The Good: Roads have okay gravel coverage (a bit dusty) while the sites have good gravel coverage. Onsite playground is large, and there is a community dog park right across from the premium sites. Clean, modern-looking bathhouses (though we didn't use them). Things to Know Water & Wi-Fi: Both were pretty weak, though this might be because we were on an outer loop site with no repeater nearby for Wi-Fi. Site Slope: Our pull-through site sloped significantly in the front and required blocks to level our 39-ft motorhome. Site Spacing: Premium sites are tight—less than a foot between our patio and the neighbor's electric box. Laundry: Only 2 washers and 2 dryers available. Both washers cut 5 minutes off their cycles, and one dryer wouldn't accept coins. Tips for Fellow RVers Watch the turn: If your gps has you turn on Bradford Avenue, watch out for a significant unmarked speed bump hidden in the shade about 100 feet in right by the elementary school. A better way is to use Stringham Road, especially when leaving as it has a stop light. Site Selection: We chose a premium patio spot in full sun, but because of our 39-ft rig's layout, the patio ended up at the very back of the motorhome and wasn't very usable. If we return, we would choose one of the back-in sites in the woods instead!Overall, would rate our stay 4.3 out of 5.0. Connectivity (3 pm): Verizon 252 down/0.55 up; T-Mobile 474 down/5.26 up; Park WiFi 1.47 down/0.12 up

  A quiet, no-frills campground that was great as we were just passing through. The sites were a little smaller than we expected for our large RV, but they were level. Loved the ice cream man that came around!

  My wife and I didn’t actually stay there. In fact, we had just stayed at a nearby state park campground, but we needed assistance with some local logistics. Amanda was super friendly and helpful and went out of her way to assist us, even though we had not been guests of the park. She absolutely helped make the rest of our day in Newport a great one. If this is indicative of their service, I can only imagine how nice it would be to stay at that park. Which we will do next time we are in that area…

  Very nice RV park. Beautiful and well maintained grounds. Clean, modern , private bathrooms and showers.
