Mt Desert Narrows Campground

  Campground Description: This campground has 258 sites – and I’m not sure that one of them is level. It has rows and loops, and most sites have at least some shade. They have back ins, pull in sites, and pull through sites. They offer tent sites and have some cabins for rent. The campground does offer some nice views of the bay. Campsite #72 – and they assign campsites at this campground. Campsite Type: most are grass but some have a little gravel. Campsite Level: ours was definitely not level. We were a little worried about getting it level, but we were able to. Hookups: Partial hookups, with 30 amp. They do offer some sites with 50 as well, but they didn’t put us in one because of our size. Which seems a little backwards, but the site we had was nice and roomy. We had a picnic table and a fire ring with a layover grill attachment. Propane fill: No propane refill, and the closest is Salsbury Farms Hardware about 2 miles away. Dump station: yes or no Wifi: The campground does have wifi and at least from our location it was pretty fast. We were close to the office/clubhouse. Starlink and Verizon were also good enough for streaming. Noise Level & Stargazing Distant hum of road noise, but no plane or train noise. Amenities: They have 2 bathhouses. Bathrooms with toilets and sinks and separate unisex shower closets that open to the outside. These were older décor and could use a cleaning. They weren’t horrible, but they were dirty going into the weekend. They have several dumpster located throughout the park. Laundry: 4 washers and 6 dryers $3.00 to wash and $2.00 to dry. They use an app called Tumble which is different from most campgrounds we’ve seen. I was worried it was going to be a load minimum amount kind of scenario, but they also have a screen for you to pay with a credit card directly if you don’t want to use the app. So that’s nice. It’s in the basement of the office area and open 24 hours which is nice. They have a pool and 2 nice playground with newer equipment. Other facilities: Basketball, rec room with plenty of space for indoor cornhole, and pickleball/bad mitten? Dog friendly: No off-leash areas, but they do have several pickup stations around the campground and they were fully stocked! Camp store: They have a camp store with a few essentials, some RV items, and some swag. The closest market is Trenton Marketplace about 3 miles away and the closest chain grocery is going to be Hannaford which is about 15 min drive to downtown Bar Harbor. Amazon Locker: This campground does allow for mail delivery which is really nice! Camp staff interactions: The had multiple interactions with the camp staff and they were super friendly and helpful. When I expressed concerns about our rig fitting, they were patient and provided some alternatives. They didn’t get upset or act like it was an imposition. Reservation process: online and it is pretty simple and straight forward.

  FREE SHOWERS, which were also pretty nice for campground standards. A great location and price for staying near Acadia, just down the road from the main entrance to the Driving Loop and along the bus route. Campground was clean and had great views of the water

  The sites are close to each other, but I went in May, hardly anyone there, people were so nice, the campsites right off the ocean? 👌🤌 They also have showers. Bathrooms are a little far depending on your site.

  I don't know how anyone could possibly give this campground a bad review! Our experience was absolutely amazing! Alex and Jewel were the best people you could have in any front office. When we arrived we were greeted with huge smiles and whenever we were in the office it was the same. Our arrival was smooth as they already had everything organized for our stay. We felt like they had been waiting for our visit and were excited to see us. The grounds were easy to maneuver around with our 30 ft travel trailer, and it was one of the cleanest parks we have been to. The laundry room was very clean and we had no trouble at all with the wifi. Our view from our site was not on the water but we could see the water and sunset and it was beautiful. We will definitely be back and we can't wait!!. Thank you Alex and Jewel for making this a great stop for us.
