Going-to-the-Sun Road
About this scenic drive
Going-to-the-Sun is the only road that crosses Glacier, and it climbs from lake level to Logan Pass on a shelf blasted into the side of the Garden Wall. Fifty miles takes most of a day once you factor in the pullouts, the wildlife jams and the hike at the top. The road is famously restrictive for large vehicles, which is the single most important thing an RV traveler needs to know before planning around it.

Before you go
Know before you go
- Vehicles over 21 feet long, 8 feet wide or 10 feet tall are prohibited between Avalanche Creek and Rising Sun. Leave the rig at camp and take the tow vehicle or the shuttle.
- A vehicle reservation is required during peak season in addition to park entry.
- Parking at Logan Pass fills by early morning in July and August.
