RV Parks in New York

New York is a bigger camping state than most people give it credit for. The Adirondack Park is the headliner. Campgrounds sit among mountains, lakes, and rivers near towns like Lake Placid and Old Forge, and the wilderness starts at the edge of your site. West of there, the Finger Lakes region strings eleven long, slender lakes past waterfalls and world-class wineries, with well-appointed RV resorts as a base. South again, the Catskill Mountains pair trailheads with small towns that punch above their weight, and the Hudson Valley lines up river views, historic estates, and farm stands along a corridor built for slow travel.

The camping doesn't stop at the mountains. Long Island puts an RV within walking distance of ocean beaches and a train ride of New York City. The state's Great Lakes frontage on Erie and Ontario adds freshwater swimming, fishing, and long shoreline drives. Park near Niagara Falls and the mist reaches the campground; park near Saratoga Springs and you're touring battlefields by morning. Short weekend or month-long stay, New York's parks can carry either.
